My Mother-in-law has a DSL through SBC in Michigan. She wants to have a
wireless network set up. The reason she wants it, is so when the
grandchildren stay over night, they can hook up to the internet with their

So I suggested her getting a wireless setup. Now I have the wireless setup
at home, and my system is running top notch. I have an XBOX 360 wireless, 2
PSP's and 3 desktop computers and a wireless printer hooked up to a D-Link
524 router. Also I have a Cable connection hooked up for the internet.
She purchased a E Home Network EH100 and an EH102 wireless adapter for a
second PC. Now the problem that I am having is, when I hooked up the router
to the DSL modem. I had everything working before I left for the day. Later
in the evening she called me and said she could not connect to the internet.
It said she had little or no connectivity. So last night I went over to
look at the setup, and found out the IP address to log on as an admin for
the router is the same as the IP address for the DSL Modem.
What do I need to do to possibly change the IP address for the Router to log
on to the admin account. IP address is 192.168.0.1 - I want to get her
computer setup so the grandkids can play on the computer and play their
gaming units. A buddy of mine stated to me he had a wireless system on his
DSL (same company). They told him that he could not have the wireless setup,
and had to have a wired setup. If this is true-- then why do the companies
sell or advertise DSL and Cable modem set-up?
p.s. by the way, she purchased the router and Adapter from Comp USA.

I'm not familiar with the EH-100 router, but if it works like a
typical home broadband router, this should let you change the router's
IP address:
1. Disconnect the DSL modem from the router.
2. Run Internet Explorer and log into the router's web-based setup
program, which is probably at http://192.168.0.1
3. Look for an option to change the router's LAN address. Change it
to an address in a different subnet, such as 192.168.1.1 .
Then, power the router off, wait a few seconds, power the router on,
and connect the DSL modem to it.
I don't know of any reason that a wireless setup wouldn't work. What
is the make and model of the DSL modem?
