Re: WPA vs WEP

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi
XP SP2 is as good as it goes. If windows shows only WEP it means that the
Wireless card drivers support WEP only.
Try the Wireless card support site, may be they have an update.
To do WPA both the Wireless Router, and the Wireless Client card need to
support it. Any mode that you use must be supported and configured on both.
If you have choices.
From Best to Worse, WPA+AES, WPA+PSK, WEP, MAC, Nothing.

I'm trying to log on to my Linksys router that has WPA currently in force.
Windows XP only has WEP as a choice as an encryprion scheme in the drop
down
menu under network connections, peoperties. Do I need an update to this
XP???
This is a system restore. XP SP2.
