1. I do not have a personal firewall, and Windows Firewall (from the
Security Center) is "off" while I attempt to establish a media share with the
xbox 360. I have disabled Norton Antivirus.
2. The pc does not have a hardware firewall. The motherboard is a

Related, I have successfully connected this pc onto a LAN with other pcs.
3. I will need to read your commentary on NetBIOS Over TCP in greater detail.

Unfortunately I can only provide diagnostics from the one pc on the wired
DI-604 network. The only other network participant is the Xbox 360. For it,
I can only provide the Network Settings it sets out.

Network Adaptor = Wired
IP Address = Confirmed
PC Selected = Failed

Under "Network Settings":
- the Xbox Live Connection is fine: all Confirmed, and NAT is OPEN.
IP Address is 192.168.0.101, subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, DNS settings are
Automatic, and both Internet Gateway and Primary DNS Server are 192.168.0.1


PC:
The Windows Firewall is off. The only 3rd party protection I have is Norton
Antivirus 2005, which is set to Permit all WMP and Zune program activities.

All Windows updates automatically download, security and otherwise,
including Service Pack 2 and Microsoft Net 2.0.

Looking at my Services, WMP network sharing / Zune / UPnP / SSDP are all
automatic and running ("Started").

Running ipconfig /all, I get:

Internet Connection Sharing is not turned on (Xbox connects through router).

Both WMP 11 and Zune are fresh installs (even tried uninstalling and
reinstalling). And having just installed WMP 11, I don't have a DRM folder
to delete (suggested in other threads).

The very fact that the PC can see the Xbox, but not vice versa, hopefully
will lead to a solution.

If there's any more information I should provide, please let me know.

To diagnose this properly, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all", from

The results of running "ipconfig /all" are in my original post. I followed
your links and downloaded browstat. Running "browstat status", I get:

I also followed your link to a Microsoft support page and turned on the Fast
Switching service (and its dependencies) - no luck, unfortunately.

the XBox. In a network problem, you need diagnostics from all participants.

Anytime that you say "one computer can't see the other", it's a case of SMBs not
getting from one computer to the other. There are a dozen or so possible
reasons for this. The most frequently seen would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are several
other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this
article with an open mind.

And when you provide diagnostics, provide them organised, and describe each
computer by name, by functionality, and with operating system and hardware
details. Don't make the helpers have to guess, you're looking for an answer.
