Access to network resources is slower in Win XP than Win 2000

I run a network with 15 testing computers running both Win2K and WinXP and 1
server running Win Server 2003. I use the computers to run a program that
administers tests, the program is an Access based program written by a third
party and is basicallt a back-end and front-end set up for the database. On
the Win2K machines the program runs faster and can score a test in under 4
seconds, the XP machines run the program slower and it takes up to a minute
and a half to score the same test.

Found a hot fix on the knowledge base but since all of the XP test stations
have SP2 it does not apply according to MS.

Has anyone else had this type of problem and were you able to fix it?
