Malke,
Sorry this post took so long but its been night here.
When you described the clean boot to me I first tried to boot in safe-mode
with networking. Cannot beleive I have not tried that earlier, but anyway IT
WORKS.
This I guess is indicating that the problem is some software problem on my
regular boot configuration. Do you know what it could be?
I am behind a modem/router (1 box)- firewall, as well as usually having the
windows firewall enabled. I have however tried to turn off the windows
firewall and my anti-virus program without it helping me.
The reason that I re-installed windows a week ago is that my hard drive
malfunctioned. It suddenly could not locate c: at all. So I had to format at
that time. I suspect some magnetic field or something was responsable for
that and I think this a different problem.
But thx for the tip, it works in safe-mode now at least.

Hi everyone,.
I am having a little problem with my internet connection since I installed
internet explorer 7.
I Can't use my FTP programs such as Webdisk client which I need for school,
and I can't use other programs that access the internet such as Pokerstars.com
They both say connectivity error or unable to connect.
I can use the internet though, and surf and read my email, and use msn
messenger, and limewire, I just can't use certain programs. I have
uninstalled them and reninstalled them, but still nothing.
I ran a diagnostic and it came back with this

I`ve now reinstalled my modem drivers, my wlan drivers and pretty much
every other driver. It doesn`t help.
This is really a quite hopeless situation
How are you connecting to the Internet? If you are connecting with a
dialup modem, what does your wireless adapter have to do with it?
Please give a clear description of your network, hardware, and method
of connecting to the Internet.
