I'm not sure I understand the limitations of guest access. First, because
everything was shared fine before I decided to put a password on my system, I
don't see how it can be a limitation. Second, its C;\documents and

you are just trying to cover all bases.
I checked your link this time. I don't know how I missed the
restrictnullSessaccess when searching through all this yesterday before
making the original post. I don't seem to have a registry for that. As in, I
do not have a registry called 'restrictnullsessaccess' in
HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\services\lanmanserver\parameters.
Should I? or is this only a problem if I have it and its set to 1?
Ok.. problem with the ACL stuff... I've been lost for quite sometime, only
to find out that I don't have the tab that I keep being referred to. If I
right click a folder, and click sharing and security, I have a 'General' tab,
a 'Sharing' tab, and a 'customize' tab. So, I'm not able to access this
security tab. Is there another way to get to it because I can't seem to
follow how. Also, the more I read about this, the more it sounds like this is
something that should be done on the other computer (Gir) and not mine
because its related to specific shared folders. Is there a way to access that
ntfs permissions without going to a specific folder?
Ok, I read the thing about disabling simple file sharing. And again this
seems relevent only to the other computer (Gir). I will try it anyway and
post back in a bit, but I don't hold out hope.
To re-iterate, the problem (originally, before I got professional help) was
the same as now, in that GIR can access TECHNOMANCER but not the other way.
The problem was on TECHNOMANCER and it involved access and permissions
relating to the creation of a guest account for GIR to access (despite the
fact that GIR already worked). Apparently, TECHNOMANCER would not read from
GIR without recognizing GIR has having an account, even though it let GIR
leech from me left and right. I don't intend to sound patronizing. I just
want to stress that some of these solutions (which I may be entirely
misreading) seem to focus on the other computer (GIR) and not mine. Am I
misreading your extremely descriptive links?
You need to be consistent with the passwords. What exactly did you do, to put a
password on your system? Did you change both computers, equally?

Are both GIR and TECHNOMANCER running Windows XP Pro?
Other than requiring a common password, the Guest accounts on the two computers
are completely independent of each other.
All settings related to Guest access will be found on the server, not the
client. If you had a problem where you could not access TECHNOMANCER from GIR,
you had to correct the problem on TECHNOMANCER. If you have a problem where you
cannot access GIR from TECHNOMANCER, you'll have to correct the problem on GIR.
