I have an awkward problem. I had professional help with this problem before.
The problem is that computer A can see B but "does not have permission."
Computer B can see and connect to A just fine.
Maybe this is only bizarre to me, but the solution to the problem involved
changing the settings for the guest account on computer A. I had to change a
couple of settings so that there was no password and all the appropriate
permissions.
Circumstances arose, and I had to set a password on my computer. Likewise I
had to disable the guest account. Later, those circumstances subsided, and I
re-enabled the guest account and removed the admin password. Now, I am back
to the problem mentioned above. Keep in mind that the only change has been
the disabling and re-enabling of the guest account which I believe resets all
the changes that were made to the guest account (permissions and all that).
I think there are 2 or 3 places that I had to go and adjust settings for
this. Can someone help me with that? I'm going to include the ipconfig below
for what its worth, but none of that really matters with the problem that I
have. i'll post the browse thing in a bit.
Thanks,
Rev
Rev,
OK, the browstat logs show no problem there - both computers are visible to each
other ("There are 2 servers in domain IRKEN-NETWORK"). Let's concentrate on
actual permissions. This article will go over each setting which you want to
check first.
