I did try using Start> Run> \\computername1 and it still does not work. But
only when i used the ip address of that computer 1 then i could access the
files there. Do you know what could have caused that?

That's a NetBIOS name resolution problem. Here are some things to
check on each computer:

1. Make sure that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled.

2. Run "services.msc" and make sure that these services are started
and are set for automatic startup:

Computer Browser
TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
Workstation

3. Run "eventvwr.msc" and look for relevant error messages. For more
