I posted this problem earlier, but the thread seems to have run dry. My
laptop, which was a member of my workgroup at home (3 pcs, 2 laptops) via
WiFi went on vacation with me.
At a friend's house, it was able to use his wireless internet connection,
but not to join his workgroup. We wasted a vacation day trying everything we
could think of with the Network Setup Wizard, etc.
When I got home I found I could not connect at home either. With a Cat 5
cable, yes; with WiFi no. At the suggestion of a member of this board, I
checked a number of parameters including node type, etc. In the end, I found
that I still can't get on, I can't seem to change the node type on that
machine from unknown to hybrid or broadcast, everything else looks good...and
I'm stumped!
I'd really appreciate a fresh set of things to try...

Hi Paul,
Sorry, missed replying to the last post. You have a Windows Networking problem,
so "browstat status", "net config server", and "net config workstation", will be
useful, besides "ipconfig /all". And looking at the diagnostics for the problem
computer, and for 2 working computers, generally provides the best chance of
getting useful results. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow
instructions precisely (download browstat!):
