Concerning Wireless Networking

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hello,

I'm having problems setting up a wireless network in my home. I have
configured the router such that:
-Authentication Type is :Shared Key
-Encryption is WPA-Pre Shared Key
-WPA Unicast Cipher Suite is WPA2 (AES)
-Key format is Passphrase
-Actual key is 63 alphanumeric characters

When I try to set up wireless on my laptop, it fails. In the windows
wireless connections manager, I selected properties of my wireless
signal, and changed the "Network Authentication" to WPA-PSK, the data
encryption to "AES", and the network key to my typed key. I am 100%
sure I typed it correctly. When I then proceeded to try to connect, it
didn't do anything. I went back into the properties and found windows
had wiped all my information! (ie - Network Authentication was set to
Open, encryption set to "WEP", and an 8 character password was there.)
I know this happened after I tried to connect, because before I tried
to connect, I verified that the information I had typed was saved. This
is so frustrating! It took me awhile to type that 63 character key
twice, and it just erases it.
I have no clue what is going on...any insight or help would be much
appreciated.

Thanks

.
