wouldn't make sense that the wireless adapter wouldn't work if the LAN
card was broken, correct?
Please help...the computer is intended for basic school functions and I
would rather not invest in a new computer for this purpose.

Please start with some detailed description about physical connection of each
computer. Remember, I'm not there in front of your computer.
