adding a computer to a network
Hi,
I want to add a computer to our network here at work.
This computer will be replacing a computer we are currently using but
that is now old and slow.
The computer will be running SQL and serves images to our employees
using some proprietary imaging software.
My question is this: can I name the new computer (and assign it the
same IP address) the exact same as the old computer? Will the network
treat the new computer as if it is the old one? Or do I have to give it
a new IP addy and name?
.
