Hi all,

I have 2 pc's,
pc1: multiboot suse linux & windows xp pro
pc2: windows xp pro
these are connected to each other with a router.
Both are in the same network and have same subnetmask.
ALL firewalls are disabled (maybe there is one blocking the traffic but
I cant find it, maybe one of you knows how I can be shure) I also used
Sysinternals Process Explorer and didnt found anything that I think
that should not be there.
ALL traffic is allowed on the network adapters.

(both running in windows)
If I ping the pc1 from pc2 then it does not give an answer.
If I do the opposit, from pc1 to pc2 it gives an answer.
If I use "netstat -a" I see the services listening on the ports.

(pc1 running linux, pc2 windows)
everything goes fine, pinging is possible in both ways.

Anyone who can help me?
I searched alot but couldnt find any solution, maybe one of you can.

Greetings,
Winux

Hi Winux,

This is most likely a firewall problem - a misconfigured or overlooked personal
firewall will do this. Look at the other possibilities too.

Then let's look at "ipconfig /all" from each computer.

I tried everything on the pages, it had some new things I didnt tried
yet. (winsock)
And it has a good explanation.
But this still didnt help me. After it, I removed all network
connections, also my cisco.
I restarted and then everything went fine.

Thanks for your time

Thanks for the update.
