how do you disable netbios/port 135 ?
i.e. so netBT isn't running.
I know it's running 'cos it appears on netstat -an. And i guess i'ts
running 'cos nbtstat -r displays other host names.
I went to the "WINS tab", disabled it there, but it's still appearing.
I even uninstalled file and printer sharing, though according to this
link that's not nececessary(if just trying to disable netbt) since you
can run F n P without NetBT.
http://www.petri.co.il/what's_port_445_in_w2k_xp_2003.htm
and i know it's possible, since I think that link does it.
still, there's listening on port 135.
yet winxp says netbt is disabled
anybody?
thanks
.
