Browser Networking Neighborhood browstat

May 29, 2006, Ralph Hamilton, Marshal ok

The system was working until I had to buy another Hard drive and I also
bought a new XP Pro OEM version to install on hard drive. I named the new
XP, OS computer ‘KOK2'. Internet works fine and a laptop computer named
‘lapgate’ shares its folders ok. ‘KOK2' can not see ‘cpt-name-ralph' shared
folders, or computer in network-Neighborhood.

The other XP Pro computer is named ‘cpt-name-ralph' Internet works fine ok
and Outlook-Express, and it sees the ‘lapgate’ shared folders also. And
sees, shared folders on ‘KOK2' well and in network-Neighborhood.

The ‘lapGate’ uses the internet fine and Outlook-Express, sees both XP Pro
computers in network-Neighborhood. ‘Lapgate’ is not always consistent with
‘cpt-name-ralph' by rebooting both systems it will work in Network
Neighborhood on ‘Lapgate’ for awhile.

I think I can see the problem but I don’t see documentation on how to make
changes.

I’m signed on as administrator on both XP-Pros

I’ve have no fire walls running to my knowledge
Even windows a window named [Windows Firewall ] says
Your PC is not protected: Turn on Windows Firewall

The only protection I know about is what is in the ‘Linksys Router’
protecting only for what is coming in from the Internet.
