I would check scan any spyware first.

I'm having a few problems with my home network Internet connection.
Whenever I download larger files it stops after about 10-15 seconds,
sometimes more, sometimes less, and doesn't resume automatically
(without a download manager). Whenever I'm on a chat room, or any IM,
it freezes (doesn't send messages, doesn't receive messages) for about
30-60 seconds every couple minutes of use. Also, at random intervals
when I click a link on a web page it won't load, and if I don't click
on the link again it will just display a "page not found" error after
about 15-30 seconds.
I use a linksys router (BEFW11S4 version 4), and am experiencing
little/no packet loss (<1%) when I ping the router or a web site.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
