where I want to copy the files to the PC. On this occasion I copied 5 files
from the laptop to the PC. As the copy process started I could see the files
appear in the PC directory, 1, 2 3, 4, 5 files. But then 3 of the file
disappeared leaving only 2 files visible in the PC directory. So I went to
the PC and viewed the directory and all 5 files which I had just copied from
the laptop were there, and yet I could only see 2 file from the laptop.
I have set the home network up using the windows wizard, infact I have done
this 3 times thinking that I may have made a mistake in the process
.
Should I consider calling an exorcist for both the PC and the laptop as I
have run out of ideas as to what the problem may be?

You don't need an exorcist. But you may need to check a few settings on the
various computers. The ability to "see" the presence of a file on another
computer is not magic, nor is it a simple process to do so.
Firstly, inconsistent visibility within a folder may have a simple cause. See
if this article is of any value.

Next, I'd look at folder refresh.

Finally, make sure that you don't have a simple browser problem. One of the
most common causes of a simple browser problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are several
other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this
article with an open mind.
