Hi,
On a customers Win XP Pro machine AMD Athlon 64 3000+ I have the following
problem:

The machine worked fine for some time but suddenly internet stopped working.

I can conect and browse another machine on the Lan with no problem.
I can ping myself as localhost and 127.0.0.1 with no problems
I can NOT ping myself with the actual ip Address 192.168.5.103 Error 65
I can NOT ping any other machines error 65
I can NOT reach anything on the Internet.
DHCP works when switching on the machine. I get correct IP address including
standard gateway, but I can not renew ip address once the machine is started

Installing another network card provides no difference
Internet connection sharing is NOT enabled
Windows firewall is shut off
No other firewall is installed At least not as I can see in the control panel
Hosts and LMhosts file look OK
Route print looks ok
IPconfig /all looks ok
In all above cases I have compared with working machines on the same LAN

I have reset tcp stack and Winsock with Netsh command.
The machine is virus scanned with AVG anti virus and malware scanned with
EVIDO. Nothing except tracking cookies found

I am running out of ideas.

Does anyone have a clue?

Error 65 is usually caused by a firewall program, such as ZoneAlarm,
that was partially un-installed but left bits of itself behind.

Go to Start | Run | msconfig. On the Startup tab, disable (un-check)
any firewall remnants, such as ZoneAlarm's Zlclient. On the Services
tab, disable any firewall remnants, such as ZoneAlarm's TrueVector
Internet Monitor. Reboot and try accessing the network again.
