Make mapped drive accessible at boot-up

When Windows (XP) starts up and I log in, mapped network drives are not accessible until they have been "browsed". I.E. if I open QuickBooks or any other application and select a "Recently Used" file that exists on a mapped network drive, it says the file is not accessible. However, if I select "open" and select the mapped drive it will then connect.
Thanks,
Randy.
