Have you tried messages other than ping/icmp? Try doing a telnet or ftp or
ssh or "telnet 80"...can you see other nodes in network neighborhood?

What does "arp -a" show?

1. Try tracert using ip of router. Should result in single hop to dest.

2. Boot windows in "safe"? mode and attempt same there. Safe mode doesn't
start a lot of extra svs.

3. Install ethereal on problem box and capture network traffic while you're
doing ping. Be sure not to capture in promiscuous mode (if you have a hub
instead of switch) as you'll get too much traffic.

This tool provides smart formatting of network traffic...check for ICMP
traffic...a ping req and corresponding ping reply.
