Re: Workgroups and File/Printer Sharing

Hi Doug

Thanks very much for your help I have managed to get everything working, but
another problem has reared its ugly head, whenever I switch off and then
reboot my laptop I am unable to connect to the internet as I keep getting an
Automatically Private IP address. When I input the IP address for my laptop
and gateway manually I can then connect, but as soon as I switch off they
seem to be lost again.Any ideas?.

Thanks

What happens if on the laptop you Start/Run \\NameofHost ENTER?

If that doesn't work, try \\IPaddressofHost.

If neither of the above work, check your firewalls.

I have a Host PC connected to a Linksys WAG354G ADSL Home Gateway and
2
clients,a PC and Laptop each with Linksys WUSB54G Network Adapters.
After
several attempts I finally managed to connect to the Internet thru
both
clients. I am still having 2 problems.
1. When I look in the "view workgroup computers" window it shows my
workgroup MSHome, but when I open this it is empty.
2. I am unable to share files/printers.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as networking is not my strong
point.

Cheers
