Linksys WPC11v3 hangs Toshiba Tecras but not IBM T23

I'm fixing a batch of Toshiba Tecra TE2100 and 9000 laptops. I got a
hold of a batch of used WPC11v3 cards for those without internal
wireless cards. I found out that 4 of the cards in the entire batch
cause any of the Tecra laptops to hang. The rest of the cards in the
batch work OK.

Now here is the weird fact. I was helping a friend with his IBM
Thinkpad T23 and, just out of curiosity, I installed one of the cards
that hung the Toshibas. To my surprise none of the 4 cards hung the
T23.

I've been to the Toshiba website and downloaded the latest BIOS and
drivers. I chatted with Linksys tech support and they dont have a BIOS
update for the card. At this point I'm simply out of ideas.
