I'm going to network my desktop with my laptop this weekend. After I
run my Cat 5 cable I've got to insert a Netgear Router into my system. The
router was given to me by a friend who has used it in the past. I'm not sure
if it still has his settings on it so should I press the reset button to get
it back to factory settings before I connect to my system? It is a Netgear
RP614.
I'll have to download the manual from Netgear's website.
That would have my vote. Starting with factory specs makes sense. You also
should try and download the current firmware, when you download the manual.
