Re: Connection Limit Question

Doug,

The machine denying the connection has just a share on the root of c: and
the other machines connect to it through a drive letter at logon. When this
problem happens again how can I see what the simultaneous connections are?
I looked at my computer, manage, shared folders, sessions and don't think I
saw more than 5 sessions. Is an event logged when this problem occure?

In general, you are right. However, it is a limit on simultaneous
connections, not the number of machines. A single machine may create more
than one connection to another machine:

I support a 5 computer -- peer-to-peer network for a small accounting
company. The computers are two WINXP Pro, two WINXP Home, and one WIN98
SE.
I had a situation yesterday where one of the WINXP Pro machines could not
connect to one of the WINXP Home machines to access a tax perparation
porogram. I thought with just five machines, the connection limit could
be
met but not exceeded. Any ideas why this happened?
