xp home workgroup/ xp pro domain network problems
Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry
I have a laptop from my work that is running XP pro and belongs to a
domain. I would like to be able connect the laptop to my home computer
running XP Home edition via a wireless router, and access shared
folders and printers.
When i connect to the network, the laptop is able to see the home
computer's workgroup "Home" but it can't access it - i get the error
message "Home is not accessible. You may not have permission to access
this network resource...". But oddly enough, the home computer has no
problems accessing shares on the laptop.
I have tried a few things that i found in other similar postings such
as enabling the guest account, renaming the workgroup with the same
name as the domain, comparing the ip config settings on each machine,
changing the restrictanonymous setting, but none of these have worked.
Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.
