Urgent Networking Problem

I have a laptop running XP, and it has wired and wireless, both worked fine and connected to my home and office networks without a problem yesterday. This morning I plugged it into my home router and had no internet. I checked my network settings and I had been assigned a DHCP from the router, and the router's address showed up in my network settings as being the current gateway, but when I went to ping the router it couldn't find it.

So I brought it into work, same thing happened. Connected the cable, got a DHCP address with the router as a gateway (different IP ranges so I know it changed), no internet, can't see any computers on the network, can't ping the router, nothing at all. I've virus checked, spyware checked, adware checked, restarted many times and nothing is giving results. Any ideas anyone, this is really urgent!
