I just replaced a computer on my home network with a brand new one, and can't

Norton Internet Security 2006 on both machines with the firewall enabled for
my home network. Have tried disabling NIS on both machines with no effect.
I have read every post on this newsgroup and tried everything to no avail.
Below are the results of Ipconfig, net view, browstat & ping for each
machine. I'm about at the end of my rope...It is probably something simple,
but I can't find it. Please help!

Thanks for the nudge. Yes the nVidia NIC did have a hidden firewall: I
re-load the OS & installed the drivers but not the utility! Anyway, got the
utilities installed & tried creating a firewall profile for MS file sharing
(with the wizard) but still nothing. I then went ahead & turned off the
nVidia fireall completely (via the software utility), rebooted & still have
the same exact symptoms. Something interesting though; when I view workgroup
computers in network neighborhood from the desktop, & click on the desktop
computer and try to open the shared folders drive, I get the same error! I
can still see both computers and their shares from network neighborhood, can
access the Laptop's files from the Desktop, but still nothing the other
direction. Any other ideas?
What Operating System (name, version, edition, SP level) does each computer run?
If XP Pro, is Simple File Sharing enabled, or if Advanced File Sharing, are you
using Guest authentication? What specific shares are you trying to open?

If you are trying to disable NIS, note that is not known for success.

Thanks for the help, Chuck. Actually, I resolved the issue. After hours
pouring over your site, I isolated it to an IRPStack edit in the registry.
Home networking is working fine now from each machine. Thanks for all the
help.
Well, thanks for the update, but why did that take hours? If this was an
IRPStack error, did the message say
"Not enough server storage is available to process this command...access
denied"?
