On both machines disable Simple Sharing in Folder Options>View. Create
identical user accounts and passwords on both machines. In Windows
Firewall, make sure that File & Printer Sharing is checked on the
Exceptions tab. Share out desired resources.
Here is a network troubleshooter by MVP Hans-Georg Michna. If you are
still having problems after you try the above suggestions, take the
time to go through Mr. Michna's troubleshooter. It normally pinpoints
the problem area(s).
