XP not reconnecting mapped network drives at login

I have two servers on a network (no domain), and some of my XP machines do
not reconnect to the mapped drives at logon. The user name and passwords are
the same on the user machines and the servers.( matching accounts on the
servers).
What happens is that the user, when accessing the mapped drives, is asked
for there password again after a reboot.
I dont know why this is happening. Some machines require entering a password
again and some dont, the connection is automatically established at logon.
Please help.
