Remote Desktop connection to localhost or via proxy
I have a tunnel program running on my PC which connects a
port on the local machine to a remote desktop via an http
proxy. To use it I need to connect to a remote desktop which
looks like it's on this port on the local machine. The remote
desktop refuses to do so, claiming that a session is already
open on this machine. Of course it works fine if I have two
machines at the client side, one to tunnel the connection
through the proxy and one to run the remote desktop client.
It is not very convenient though, to have to use an extra
computer just for this reason.
Is there any way I can persuade the remote desktop client to
connect to a port on the local machine?
Or alternatively configure it to go via the proxy to start with?
Many thanks,
David
