Hi Chuck,
First time using forum, don't know about bottom posting. Here is a summary
of what I have done:

(1) Confirm, neither computer could ping each other.
(2) Have removed the IPX/SPX & NetBEUI from ETPC-02 (Win 98 SE PC).
(3) ETPC-01 (Win XP Pro PC) has TCP/IP only.
(4) Read the tutorial on Windows Networking & Problems with LSP/Winsock.
(5) Downloaded Winsock XP Fix and ran it on both Computers.
(6)After running WinsockXPFix on ETPC-01, noticed the LAN icon changed to
"Limited or No Connectivity". (Status now shows Connected after running
Network Setup Wizard).
(7)Disabled ICS (clear check box of "Allow other network users to connect
through this computer's Internet Connection).
(8) Ran Network Setup Wizard, created a Setup disk, run Setup disk on ETPC-02.
(9) System rebooted after coping files to ETPC-02.
(10) Waited for 45 minutes for system to re-establishes itself.
(11) On ETPC-02, Click on Network Neighbourhood, Click Entire Network,
Dialog box says "Unable to browse the network. The network is not accessible.
etc etc"
(12) On ETPC-01, Click on My Network Places, View workgroup Computers.
ETPC-01 & ETPC-02 is displayed.
(13) Could open up folders & files in ETPC-01. However when I click on
ETPC-02. got the following dialog box. "\\ETPC-02 is not accessible. You
might not have permission to use this network. Conteact the administrator of
this server etc, etc".
(14) Will now try and run "netsh winsock reset catalog" on ETPC-01, don't
know whether there is an equivalent tool for ETPC-02 (Win 98SE Pc)?
(15) Should I try and download LSP-Fix and WinsockFix and run these on my
two PCs as well? Would it dore more harm than good?
Looking forward to our next line of attack.
