Re: uploading video from XP machine creates unwanted user/pass pro

Thanks for the comments. I'm not technical so maybe I don't understand the
question. That's my website I pay Yahoo to "host." I use their software to
upload files. I create web pages and insert video files and upload the page.
The video files are files I created using Adobe Premiere from video I shot. I
have never required, nor do I know how to, a password. The Yahoo techs said
there are no password protected files on my site. I've been posting and
viewing video on this site for a year with no problems. I have user access to
the site and can add and delete pages, media, anything. The only thing that
is different is I put these files on my new XP and viewed them Media Center
before I uploaded them and -- after I tried unsuccessfully to network my two
computers. I feel that somehow in trying to network them I must have changed
some setting to require a password, and that requirement has attached to
these files even though I uploaded them to Yahoo's server. The same thing
happens no matter which of my two computers the files come from. FYI, when I
check network connections, under LAN or Internet connections, it shows

Local area connection disabled
Local area connection 2 connected
1394 Connection connected

(For video I have several external firewire drives.)

Which makes me think the computers think they are networked. But I have not
been able to access files back and forth.

Note that when you go to

and get a demand for username and password, if you hit cancel, you can see
the media player and buttons. In the past, anyone could click play and the
video would play.

You'll note the demand says "Enter Network Password," although this is an
html page on my site. The message looks like a Windows message. But I am sure
I never typed in a password for my XP so I'm baffled.
