Re: XP Home cannot see XP Pro

Chuck,

Yes...it's weird that the XP Pro system cannot even see itself. I'm using
Norton Antivirus 2005 (latest updates and definitions). The computer did
come pre-loaded with the McAfee Security Suite (I assume that it had it's
own firewall because Windows was turned off). I uninstalled the McAfee as I
prefer Norton and already owned a spare copy. I have the Windows XP Firewall
turned on. The system has all the latest Windows updates installed
(including SP2). I'm at work now so I will need to check the components and
services you mention in the hyperlink when I get home. I'm 99% sure the
Firewall is setup properly based on my reading of your articles on your
site. What should I try next?

I'm getting ready to re-install the OS at this rate. This is absolutely
unbelievable. I logged onto Dell Chat support last night but because they
feel it's not a hardware problem I would have to use their telephone pay
support for a solution that they do not guarantee. Forget that!

Thanks so much for your time, help and patience.

Roger
