Interesting I have the same with my Netgear adsl firewall router:

I have a desktop pc wired to my Netgear DG834g adsl modem router, I
also have a laptop with a WG511 pcmcia wireless card, I can swap files
between the shared folders and drives on both machines EG: from my
documents on the laptop to the D drive on the desktop and vice versa
browse the web with the laptop, all appears great but.....

if i ping the laptop from the desktop I get the four packets sent and
received 0% lost.

if I ping the desktop from the laptop I get request timed out four
times
router ip 192.168.0.1 gateway
desktop ip 192.168.0.2
laptop ip 192.168.0.3
both are assigned by dhcp the desktop is directly connected and the
laptop is wirelessly connected

I have a third pc conected wirelessly to the network (used mainly for
media storage ip 192.168.0.4) when using the media pc, if I ping the
desktop it times out, but I can ping the laptop and the laptop can ping
the media pc??????

I was trying to stream video from the desktop to the media pc using an
p2p app called iMEDIAN and iCASTER but if i cant get the ping to work
the app wont work either.

Can anyone help shed some light and explain this for me, why cant I
ping the wired pc?

Thanks
