You are getting 169.254.171.41 because the Ethernet card isn't getting an
IP address assignment from the router.

In that property window where you see the 169.254.x.x IP address, can you
change it to 192.168.0.254? Change the setting from "Obtain an IP address
automatically" to "Specify an IP address. Enter 192.168.0.254 for the IP
address, and 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet Mask. Reboot, then try to access
192.168.0.1.
