Tony,

It's good that you are willing to research your problem based upon what's been
experienced by others. But when you describe your efforts as "trying all of the
fixes listed elsewhere", that doesn't help anybody.

Your symptom is based upon the browser, which is the subsystem that populates
the display in Network Neighborhood. What you have is called a browser
conflict. Read about the browser, and conflicts.
