I'd bet that your old network did not run DNS, but your new one (if running
Active Directory) is, and your client PCs aren't properly configured. DNS
should be running on at least one DC and all clients should be using only
that DNS address for name resolution. If you're also running DHCP on the
new server that would be the easiest way to "push" the settings out to your
clients, by setting up the range options.
