Browser connections all messed up!

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I have XP Pro with both Netscape V.7.2 and Explorer 6x connected to the
internet via a Direcway 6000 and a linksys WRT54G wireless router (this one
is hard-wired). Two other PC's, with ME and WIN2000 are also connected
(Explorer only). The ME box and the 2000 box both connect to the internet
without any serious problems, but I have no end of trouble with the XP box.
I have gotten proxies and settings and nothing allows me to browse without
constant adjustment.

Typically, I can get to non-secure websites without much trouble, but secure
sites are a nightmare. To get to my bank, I have to go into the home page on
the proxy, then switch the settings to direct connection in order to get to
the secure site. This kind on messing around applies to all the secure
websites and some of the non-secure. I'm always switching between Internet
settings.

There's obviously some configuartion problems, but I don't know how to
proceed. I'm about ready to blow the whole disk away and completely
reconfigure, but I thought maybe someone out there would have some solutions.

Any ideas??
