After digging a bit, it appears that the "Redirector" service has something
to do with the "Workstation" service. When I open up the Services window
from the "Administration Tools" selection in the control panel, I do not see
a service called "Redirector", but I do see the "Workstation" service listed.
It is stopped, and it will not start. It seems that the "Server" service
needs the "Workstation" service to be running for it to work. Maybe the root
cause of the problem has something to do with the "Workstation" service.
