Networking problem not obvious

I have a simply 2 computer network running through a Linksys router (for the
cable connection). Both systems run XP Home Edition. I can ping each computer
by IP address and name. Both computers list each other and will display the
list of shares on each.......but when I try to access the shares, they give me
the error message 'Network not accessible' 'access denied'.........I am
logged on to both as admin. I also can't print to the shared printer from the
computer not physically attached, which I'm sure stems from whatever problem
this is.
Both can access the net with no problems.
Any ideas on what is going on? (I'll be happy to add any further info if
needed)
Thanks very much.
