network and router

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

i have just reformated pc , all updates are done, i pluged my router back in
and now my network is only sharing speed instead of splitting it, i had it
great b4 the format now am baffled, i have a 1mb connection and sped was
hitting 350kbs now can only get 120kbs, less when other pc on, i know i am
mising sumthing just cant think what, any help greatly appreciated
