OK, I think we can clarify one thing anyway. Both Ameritrade and Microsoft have
large internal (private) networks, and their perimeter routers absorb or block
pings. I don't get responses back from them either. Dunno about
Digital-Doctors though. Google and Yahoo, OTOH, have large external networks,
which are open to the public.
Now that your browsers are consistent, and don't open any webpages:
1) Precisely what error do they display?
2) Do they not display Google or Yahoo?
3) Have you tried accessing webpages using the ip address?
