Cannot Add a PC with WinXP Pro to the Domain running on Win2K Serv

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

My domain server is configured & running on Win2K Server.
I have to enable the "LMHOSTS lookup" from the Advanced TCP/IP Settings
windows, before the PCs build on WinXP Pro can be successfully added on the
existing domain .
It appears that user can face a problem loging to a domain from his PC
(previously added to the domain) at any time, and I have to re-add it again
before user can access the same domain.
I'm thinking about incompatibility, that's why I'm planning to migrate the
existing domain server from Win2K to Win2K3 Svr.
Any experience on this from your end?
