Firewall and Office

Hello,
I have this application developed with Access 2000 and SQL Server 2000.
The SQL Server was installed on a computer with Windows XP which has also access to the internet. In this machine the Windows Firewall is enabled.
The computers in the network, with Windows 2000, have access to the internet through the above computer, and also have the Access 2000 program.
None of these Access 2000 programs can get to the SQL Server database, as its access its refused by the firewall. If I disable the firewall, the application works as expected.
My question is: where can I find some article or documentation on how to enable certain incoming applications like Office to pass through the Windows firewall ?.
TVMIA,
Klerman
