I appologize for not stating it, but I had run all winsock help programs you
listed on the site. One of the programs (first one i think) gave me a reply
that said there was nothing to chenge. I rebooted after each run and tried to
access the computers in my network by name. The error message is still
"network path not found." Something that was odd was that two of the programs
gave me the option of backing up the registry. When I clicked on this option
the program wanted to start doing it but failed to complete the backup.

JOLAPTOP is a new computer (purchased Friday) that I wanted to connect to
the network so that I could tranfer my files. There are 4 other computers
that access the network and share files and printers without problems. I am
only able to access two of them at the moment (other two are password
protected but i know they work). When I got the laptop I ran the network
wizard and ran into the previously described problems.

I use an ActionTec modem/hub to connect but there was nothign I had to do
for the other computers to give them access. osaid that I should check about
bonusroom's security settings. What kind of security settings are you
referring to and where can I find them?
