Trouble Opening Network Settings

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I open the network connections, but when I try to open my main connection
(which is 'America Online') I have done evrything to change the settings but
they just will not open for me, I right click and go to 'properties', but
nothing happens, on the left I click 'change the settings of this
connection', again, nothing happens, so I really need to find out how to open
this so I can take off my firewall for one program, I have been trying this
for over a month and now I am getting really fed up with it.
