By "shared permissions" and "advanced permissions", I'm guessing you refer to
"Sharing - Permissions" and "Security"?
Are you getting this result from new shares as well as ones created before you
started seeing this problem? What server did you have when you didn't have the
problem? Does this happen when you try to create files, to edit existing files,
or both?
