This does help. You have to eliminate the impossibilities, to concentrate on
the possibilities.
# There is no browser conflict.
# There are no unnecessary protocols.
# There is the predicted "error = 5" on HomePC.
Now let's try again. What is the complete name of the folder that can't be
accessed? You said originally:
"When i attempt to access the PC's shared folder i get an error on the lines of
'you might not have permission to use this network resource'"
HomePC is running XP Home, which means that it uses Guest authentication. Guest
authentication is limited in capability.
