chucky your are so helpfull.
I think I feel the pressure subsiding with the big headavhe this has been.
I have just found out that his work will not upgrade to wirless(they
actually disable it) for security reasons, so my conclusion is to ...
make my pc which sits in the lounge wireless with a PCI card and put the
router in our bedroom where he uses the laptop.
Our bedroom is very cosy and really is where we live the most as it is very
large and has alounge room in it as well so it is where he is used to being
of an evening in comfort....Lucky him you say...lol
That way he can connect directly into the router and hopefully mine will
pick up the wireless as well as my daughters.
Our bedroom is not attatched to the house but the router would only be
approx 20meters from the pc in the lounge and my daughters is only a few more
meters away, my understanding is this will be fine.
So do I now just follow the windows wizard to create a home network or do I
wait until I have purchased the wireless cards x 2 and assuming my daughters
need s an ethernet card as you stated below.
(((Each computer should need just one Ethernet or WiFi card,
unless you have a laptop that you want wired (when sitting in a fixed
location),
or wireless (when roaming).)))
p.s his laptop will be wired straight to the router
my daughters willbe wireless as well as mine
so are you saying i wont even need to run the wizard is the router already
doing this all for me?
