USB print probs. - check list for causes?


I will be grateful if you can point me to a check list for tracking down causes of unreliable USB printer operation.

The situation is XP Home SP1 peer network for file and printer sharing.
Protocol is NetBeui, so firewalls and pings don't come into it.

Specific problems include:-
Printer going offline.
Printer reporting ready but not printing.
Every job is in error when it reaches the head of the queue.
Limited network users cannot clear spooler of error jobs.

Other than that, the printers work fine, and file sharing is trouble free.
